Police arrest male after burglary in Newey Avenue, Bedworth

A 26 year old man was arrested in the early hours of this morning, Monday September 14, following a burglary at Newey Avenue, Bedworth.

The burglary was reported at about 01.45hrs when the occupants discovered that someone had been into the house and a laptop computer and television had been stolen.

Police linked the description of the offender to a call from another member of the public who had seen a male acting suspiciously and carrying which looked like a machete in Hammersley Street.

Officers attended and located a man who initially made off from the scene. He was arrested on suspicion of burglary and possession of an offensive weapon and taken into custody where he will be questioned by detectives.
