Concern for missing Wolston man

Incident 140, March 31

Police are concerned for the welfare of a 77 year old man from Wolston who has not been seen since Thursday, March 28.

George Summerfield, of Meadow Road, Wolston was reported missing yesterday, Saturday March 31, by a relative who visited his home address.

Mr Summerfield was seen in the village on Thursday lunch time and enquiries are underway to establish his movements after that.

House to house enquiries have been conducted and officers have visited establishments which Mr Summerfield is known to frequent, as well as a search of local woodland and open areas.

They would like to hear from anyone who saw Mr Summerfield on Thursday afternoon or thought there was anything unusual in his recent behaviour.

Mr Summerfield is described as a white male , 5' 10" tall, and of medium build. He has a bald head apart from long, lank grey/black hair down the sides.

He is thought to be wearing a dark anorak type jacket and usually wears a green checked flat cap.

Anyone who sees Mr Summerfield is asked to call 999 immediately.
