Burglaries of shed, garages and businesses fall by 30.6% in three areas of Leamington

19 February 2010 11:24

Police in Leamington have reported an encouraging 30.6% reduction in incidents of shed, garage, outhouse and business burglaries in three areas of Leamington.

These priority areas are geographic locations, which have previously seen the highest number of incidents and crimes in Warwickshire.

Between April 1, 2009 and January 22, 2010* there were 56 fewer incidents of burglaries of this type in Leamington Town Centre, Leamington Spa North and Leamington Spa South.

Chief Inspector Neil Harrison, Warwick District Commander said: "A better focus on dealing with those who commit the highest numbers of crime, including tactics such as stop and search and Neighbourhood Watch days of action, is helping to reduce the number of incidents taking place in the areas of Leamington suffering a disproportionate level of crime compared with other areas of the town. Police in Leamington, together with partners, will continue to protect communities by addressing these issues."
