Appeal for witness to attempted arson in Leamington Spa
19 February 2010 14:11
Incident 276, January 22
Detectives in Leamington want to speak to a man who may have witnessed an attempted arson in St Brides Close last month.
On Friday January 22 two males were seen to set light to an ice lolly wrapper and push it through a letter box. The lit paper did not cause any damage and was soon extinguished.
It is believed that the incident was witnessed by two men, one of whom has come forward and spoken to detectives but the second has not.
DC Louise Brook, who is leading the investigation, said: "Fortunately no one was injured during this incident but it could have had serious consequences. It is important that we identify the offenders as soon as possible and the second potential witness may have the information to help us do that."
The witness, and anyone else who has information about this incident, is asked to contact DC Brook at Leamington CID on 01926 415000 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
