Potential shoplifting offences prevented

Officers working as part of an ongoing operation aimed at actively disrupting the criminal use of the county’s roads stopped a car that was heading in to Stratford upon Avon on Tuesday 21 February.

The occupants were both well known to the police as serial shoplifters with over 100 previous convictions between them.

Officers searched their vehicle and although nothing was found they were asked not to continue on their journey into Stratford. They decided to turn around and leave the area.

Chief Inspector Adrian Knight said

“We are stopping anyone we believe may be linked to crime and want to send a clear message to criminals - Do not travel around Warwickshire and commit crime."

Crimestoppers - 0800 555 111 - working in partnership with the police.
