Serious RTC On M40, Police Appeal For Witnesses

Police are appealing for witnesses to a road collision which took place on the northbound carriageway of the M40 motorway north of Junction 11 (Banbury) at 5pm on Saturday 29 August.

The collision involved a blue Ford focus car which collided with the motorway

central reservation.

A second vehicle, a red Peugeot 106, was also involved in the collision which resulted in all three northbound lanes of the motorway being closed to traffic for a while before the carriageway was partially reopened. The incident resulted in lengthy tail backs on the motorway.

One person from the Ford Focus car was taken to the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire by air ambulance. A second person was taken to Warwick Hospital. A third person in the vehicle sustained minor injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision and ask anyone who saw a blue Ford Focus or the red Peugeot 106 travelling north of Junction 11 on the M40 at shortly before 5pm to contact PC Pat Kearney at the Grays Mallory Traffic base on 01926 415415.
