Special officers achievements recognised at awards ceremony, Rugby.

Three police Special officers have received awards recognising their achievements.

The ceremony, which took place at Rugby Police Station on Thursday August 26, saw Andrew Vale receive the Special Constable of the Year 2010 Award, and Gary Upton the award for Special Sergeant of the Year 2010.

Special Constable Andrew Whitworth received the Outstanding Commitment to Rugby Police Award.

Certificates were presented to all Rugby Specials, which documented the hours they’d worked during 2009.

Special Chief Inspector, Katherine Hancock said: “Special officers play an important role in the policing of Warwickshire. Ceremonies of this nature show that we value their dedication and commitment to protecting communities from harm.”
