Tennis equipment stolen in robbery, Donnithorne Avenue, Nuneaton

A 15 year old boy was assaulted as he walked home from Cadwell Court tennis club in Nuneaton.

The boy's tennis bag and tennis rackets were stolen by youths who kicked and punched him and demanded he hand over cash and mobile telephone.

The incident happened between 22 00 and 22 30 yesterday, July 11, as the boy walked along Donnithorne Avenue toward Leyland Road.

As he approached a set of railings close to the school he was approached by three youths. One pushed him against the railings and demanded his phone or cash.

The youths grabbed his navy blue Dunlop bag containing Yonex tennis rackets. They kicked and punched him as he fell to the floor and ran off with the bag and rackets.

The boy suffered a swollen eye, cut lip, bruising to his hands and bruising to his neck and back.

The offenders are described as aged 14 - 16 but the victim is unable to give any further descriptions.
